The municipality of Rotterdam works on a program which is called “Tackling Sexual Violence”. In order to tackle sexual violence in the region of Rotterdam-Rijnmond, VOAW raises awareness surrounding taboos related to sexual violence within migrant and refugee communities. VOAW raises awareness about this taboo theme since 2019. The field officers responsible for this activity are trained by different institutions such as Pharos, Stichting Chris, De Waag and Praktijk den Uijl.
